Reflecting Harmony: The Feng Shui Do's and Donts of Mirrors in Your Home

In my interior design work, I've always found that mirrors can add a touch of sophistication and light to a space. However, through my experiences working with Feng Shui clients, I've come to realise that mirrors have a much deeper impact than just aesthetics. They can either double your good vibes, prosperity, and harmony or hinder them.

That's why I wanted to give you a bit more detail on how you can use mirrors in your home to really amplify the positive energy and create a harmonious environment

Do:

Reflect Abundant Energy: Ever thought of adding a mirror as a splashback behind your oven? It's not only a smart design move but also a secret ingredient for cooking up prosperity! Picture this: your mirror doubles the energy of your stove, making it a symbol of abundance and nourishment. As you whip up delicious meals, imagine the mirror as a gateway to good fortune, reflecting positivity right back into your home. Bon appétit to a life filled with abundance and joy!

Expand Space: If your home feels a tad snug, fear not! Mirrors are here to save the day. Place them strategically in small rooms or narrow hallways, and voilà! Watch as your space magically opens up, creating a breezy and airy atmosphere. Who knew mirrors could be the ultimate space-savers?

Embrace Natural Light: Let there be light! Mirrors are like sunshine magnets, soaking up every ray and bouncing it around your room. Position them opposite windows, and watch as they sprinkle a warm glow into every nook and cranny. It's like bringing a touch of sunshine indoors, making your home feel like a cosy haven all day long.

Avoid:

Mirrors Facing The Front Door: Ah, here's a friendly heads-up avoid placing a mirror directly facing your front door. Why? Well, think of your doorway as the VIP entrance for good vibes, opportunities and abundance. But if there's a mirror there, it will reflect those good vibes straight back out again! So, let's keep the positive energy flowing freely.

Broken Mirrors: In Feng Shui, a broken mirror is a no-no, symbolizing a bit of energy turmoil. Swap it out pronto to restore harmony and keep those good vibes swirling around your space.

Mirrors Facing Your Bed: Ah, the bedroom—the sacred sanctuary of sleep! But wait, avoid placing a mirror directly across from your bed. Why? Well, it might stir up some restless nights and even invite unwelcome third-party guests into your dreams. Let's keep the bedroom vibes serene and cosy.

Clutter: Last but not least, let's talk clutter! Mirrors have a knack for reflecting whatever's in front of them, be it good vibes or... yep, clutter! So, be mindful of what they mirror back. Keep them facing happy sights like artwork, plants, or lovely views, even your wealth bowl if you create one and steer clear of reflecting any mess or chaos.

Remember: harmony starts with a sprinkle of intention and a dash of mindfulness. Let your mirrors be more than just reflections—let them be gateways to a world of positivity and serenity, guiding you on your journey to a happy, harmonious home.
